The M64 field jacket has no lining, which is good, meaning you can use it in both cold and warm weather. When it's cold, you can simply wear a sweater underneath. The fit is adjustable via Velcro cuffs and drawstrings at the waist and hem. The front buttons are button-down, with Velcro visors covering them. Waterproof fabric is concealed between the shoulders and part of the back, and other layers. This concealed fabric rustles because it's old. The rustling may disappear when the fabric is wrinkled enough. We're not sure.
There are four pockets in the front, all closed with very sturdy Velcro flaps. There's a large poacher pocket on the lower back, providing extra space for heavier items. There's no always-visible hood. Instead, there's a small pocket for tucking in a thin hood.
